Accessibility Statement

Last updated: October 2026

Our commitment

Castello Skopelos is committed to making its website usable by everyone, whatever technology or ability they bring to it.

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, as adopted by the European standard EN 301 549 v3.2.1.

Conformance status

This website fully conforms with WCAG 2.1 Level AA, on the basis of the testing described below.

What has been done

  • Every page can be operated with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator.
  • A skip link to the main content, first in the tab order.
  • Semantic structure: one main region and one first-level heading per page.
  • Alternative text on every image.
  • Colour contrast that meets or exceeds the 4.5:1 requirement for text.
  • No automatic motion beyond one quiet entrance on load; the device's reduced-motion setting is respected.
  • An accessibility panel with text size, link underlining, high contrast and a stop-animations switch.
  • Each page declares its language, and it follows the one you choose.
  • A sitemap as a second route to every page.

How we test

Every published route is checked automatically with axe-core, both with the application running and against the content delivered without JavaScript.

Automated checking covers roughly a third of the criteria. The rest are checked by hand: keyboard-only navigation, a screen-reader pass, and looking at real devices.

Known limitations

The map on the contact page is provided by Google. Our address and telephone number are always given as text as well, so the map is never needed to find us.

Some photographs of the town come from third parties (Wikimedia Commons); their alternative text describes the scene rather than every detail in it.

Contact us

If you meet a barrier, or need something here in a different format, tell us. We will reply and we will fix it.
