Welcome

A table beneath the castle

Castello sits on Mylos Square, at the edge of Skopelos Town, beneath the walls of the Venetian castle. From our tables you look over the whole harbour, the slate roofs of the Chora and, beyond them, the open Aegean.

Our family opened Castello in 2023; we are the same family that has kept Vrachos above the port since 2016. We cook traditionally, with simple recipes and plates made for sharing, and we use many of the local products we find.

And every evening, once the sun drops behind the mountain, the band comes up.

Why Castello

  • Traditional kitchen

Grilled meats, meze and salads, the way a Greek taverna makes them.

  • Live music

A three-piece band with guitar, bouzouki and double bass, every evening in season.

  • Mylos Square

Stone paving, string lights, floodlit walls and a view that does not end.

  • Family hospitality

The same family and the same care you know from Vrachos.

Every evening

A small band, long evenings

Three musicians, guitar, bouzouki and double bass, play live every evening of the season. Old laika, island songs and rebetika, at a volume that lets the table talk.

It is not background music. It is the reason many people climb to the castle after sunset.

Daily from about 9 pm, May to October

From the kitchen

We are mainly a taverna of meats and traditional Greek cooking: grills, meze, salads, plates for sharing. We use many of the local products we find. We do not serve seafood. The menu changes through the season; you will find it on the table.
